She calls out the warning signs of losing yourself in a relationship: changing who you are to impress someone, ditching your friends, letting a text control your entire mood, accepting inconsistent effort, and confusing the bare minimum with love. As she goes through each rule, the audience sees how she made those exact mistakes with Ty. By the end, Emma realizes the list isn’t just advice for other people, it’s a way of taking back control and remembering who she was before the relationship.
