About me

My name is Addy Bramson, I’m 29 years old and I currently live in Bluffton, South Carolina. I moved there in 2022 from the DC metro area. I attended Northern Virginia Community College from 2013 to 2016, with an intended major in Communication Design. Currently I am a sophomore transfer student at Savannah College of Art and Design, majoring in Production Design with a focus on Scenic Design. Before college, I started working with the person who became, and remains, a key mentor to me. Rania Peet is an expert set designer and photographer and was generous with her time, knowledge and feedback. As a result, and thanks primarily to Rania, I gained comprehensive insights into fabrication and set design. Collaboratively, we conceptualized, constructed, and installed large-scale art pieces for several music festivals and events. From 2016 - 2022 I was a professional real estate photographer in Silver Spring, Maryland. I was the primary on-staff photographer at a boutique real estate brokerage where I also handled graphic designs, printed marketing materials, and other miscellaneous tasks. In 2020, my mother initiated a nonprofit studio for artists with disabilities called Full Spectrum Studio. She was driven by the desire to provide my sister, and others with similar challenges, the opportunity for a creative career. Together we came up with a name for the studio, designed a logo, wrote a mission statement, and set up a website. These tasks, along with photography, studio assistance, signage, event participation, regular website updates, and two large art installation pieces, constitute my involvement with the studio over the past year. My mother also inspired me to work with recycled plastic as an artistic medium. I have recycled thousands of bottle caps over the last year into various art pieces and installations on Hilton Head Island. Finally, on top of all of the fun things I’ve done over the last decade, I also became a laser safety officer. This allows me to work with high wattage show lasers for events. I am able to load in, install, run power and data, and be the technician for licensed laser use. This was made possible by my friends Steve and Amy Paradis, who run their own laser company known as Prime Laser Systems. Through PLS, I was able to gain hands-on experience in the world of event production, as well as safety protocols for some of the most dangerous equipment in visual effects.
